The one-way street for your flavour

The small round button on many coffee packets isn’t just for decoration: it allows CO₂ to escape from freshly roasted beans whilst effectively keeping oxygen out. It’s like a door that only opens in one direction.

    When freshly roasted, beans continue to release CO₂ for days on end — a sign of freshness that needs to be removed.

    Valve regulates

    CO₂ escapes in a controlled manner, whilst oxygen is consistently kept out.

    No oxidation: the flavour, sweetness and character last significantly longer.

What goes into a good coffee sachet?

A coffee bag is more than just a piece of film wrapped around beans. Five components work together to ensure your coffee stays fresh, your design looks its best and the bag sits neatly on the shelf.

Seals the bag tightly all round. Positioned with micrometre precision to ensure nothing escapes and no loss of flavour occurs due to leaks.

Why is the right packaging so important for coffee?

Coffee is delicate: without the right packaging, over 800 aromas can be lost in no time. Our stand-up pouches for coffee, featuring a high barrier, an aroma valve and a zip, provide optimum protection against oxygen, UV radiation and moisture – ensuring long-lasting freshness and a full-bodied aroma.

What is the function of an aroma valve?

Freshly roasted coffee gives off gases. The aroma valve allows these to escape without letting oxygen in. The result: your coffee stays fresh, the full flavour is preserved – and the packaging doesn’t swell up.

Which material is best suited to my coffee packaging?

We use recyclable, single-material packaging with a strong barrier. It reliably protects beans and ground coffee from moisture, oxygen and UV light. Ideal for preserving the quality and flavour of your coffee – sustainable and practical at the same time.

What sizes are available for coffee packaging?

We offer seven sizes, specially designed for coffee:

  • M-Short, M & L – ideal for sample sizes and 250g packs
  • XL-Short & XL – perfect for 500g to 750g of coffee
  • XXL-Slim & XXL – The right choice for 1kg packs.

As coffee beans vary depending on the roast and grind, we always recommend a test fill to determine the ideal pack size.

What extras are available for my coffee pouches?

We offer a range of extras to ensure your coffee packaging is just right:

  • aroma-seal valve – for optimum freshness
  • Velcro zip or standard zip – for easy resealing
  • matt or soft-touch finish – for a sophisticated design
