From the garage to the cowshed to Thiersheim! Our journey continues

From an old metal hall to a modern production site: in Thiersheim, we have sustainably renovated an existing building and transformed it into a state-of-the-art packaging production facility. More space, cutting-edge technology and a clear goal: to manufacture flexible packaging in a smarter, more sustainable and future-oriented way.
Von der Garage über den Kuhstall nach Thiersheim! Unsere Reise geht weiter

Sometimes big stories start small. In a garage, a converted cowshed and with a dash of madness. That's exactly how it all began for us. Today, we are on the verge of our next big step: our move to Thiersheim. More space, state-of-the-art technology and a clear mission to take flexible packaging to a whole new level.

Our beginnings: From the garage to the cowshed

We started out in a small garage. With a second-hand machine, lots of coffee and the conviction that labels can do more than just stick. But it quickly became clear that space was tight and possibilities limited. So we moved to an old cowshed. That's where we got our first big orders, spent long nights in production and laid the foundations for what Labelisten is today.

This is where Die Labelisten's story began, in Frank's garage.

The next step: in the picture, it is still a cowshed, but today there is an HP Indigo printing press here.

From these improvised beginnings, a company with a clear mission developed step by step: to make packaging and labels smarter, more flexible and more sustainable.

Why Thiersheim? A location with a future

The next big step takes us to Thiersheim, a small community in north-eastern Bavaria. This is where our new production site for pouches is being built. Modern, sustainable and perfectly aligned with the future of packaging. The focus is clearly on flexible packaging, especially stand-up pouches. They are the answer to the growing demand for sustainable, practical and customisable solutions. To achieve this, we need state-of-the-art technology, more space and structures that can grow with us.

Thiersheim offers us exactly that: an ideal location in the heart of the region, space for new machinery and capacity, and the opportunity to secure our mission for the long term. Here, we combine expertise, creativity and technology to take packaging to the next level.

Old factory, new concept

The existing building in Thiersheim was formerly an ageing metal factory. There was no indication that it was suitable for food production or high-tech manufacturing. Instead of constructing a new building on greenfield land and sealing valuable land, we made a conscious decision to renovate the existing building.

A great deal of effort went into completely gutting the building, re-insulating it and bringing it up to the latest standards: modern power supply, IT cabling, brand new pipes and a large PV system on the roof. An old industrial hall has thus been transformed into a state-of-the-art production site for flexible packaging suitable for foodstuffs.

For us, sustainability means rethinking the existing. Resource-efficient. Creative. Future-oriented. We are ready for the next generation of packaging.

Technology & innovation: More than just printing

With Thiersheim, we are not only focusing on more space, but above all on state-of-the-art technology. At the heart of this is the HP Indigo 200K, the world's most advanced digital printing press for flexible packaging.

It brings us speed, brilliant print quality and maximum flexibility, making us fit for the future. The HP Indigo prints with a web width of 76 cm and can produce up to 45 metres per minute – ideal for efficiently handling both small batches and large productions. The high resolution produces razor-sharp details and rich colours that make your brand stand out on the shelf.

Added to this is our own software, which enables highly automated processes: from data handling and order processing to production. The result: no minimum quantities, fast delivery times and packaging that is as individual as your brand. Reordering has never been so easy either! And because innovation always goes hand in hand with sustainability for us, we make sure to conserve resources and develop packaging that is recyclable and environmentally friendly. Smarter, more sustainable, more innovative. That's exactly what the new generation of label makers stands for.

Growth & Vision: From Pfaffenreuth to the world

What began in a garage is now a success story with impressive momentum. Today, we have around 85 employees, and in Thiersheim alone, there will soon be almost 40. These are people who work with expertise, passion and high standards to make labels and packaging smarter.

Our customers are just as diverse as our team. From protein powder brands and coffee roasters to automotive companies and merchandising projects for the Rolling Stones. The range shows that our solutions are flexible, versatile and always tailored to individual needs.

But we are looking even further ahead: with our new location in Thiersheim, we not only want to grow, but also set new standards. Namely for innovation, sustainability and packaging that leaves a lasting impression.

Focus on sustainability

Sustainability is not just a buzzword, but an integral part of our work. With our flexible pouches, we save up to 90% plastic compared to traditional cans, while offering the same product protection. What's more, they are lighter, more space-saving and reduce transport volumes. Less material, less weight, less CO₂.

And because the future is circular, we focus on recyclable mono-material solutions that conserve resources while meeting the highest standards of function and design. In doing so, we take responsibility for our customers, our region and the environment.

Conclusion & outlook

The new location in Thiersheim is more than just a move; it is the next chapter in our journey. More space for ideas, more opportunities for innovation and a clear commitment to sustainability.

We are convinced that this is just the beginning! Visitors can experience first-hand how we are rethinking packaging. Smarter, more sustainable and always a little surprising.

Come and visit us, we are always happy to show you our world.
