Materials & finishes for every brand

Practical tip · Adhesion

Which adhesive is best for your coffee bag?

A coffee bag isn’t a standard surface – and that’s precisely why choosing the right adhesive is so important. Here’s what you need to know before you order your labels.

The problem

Coffee beans contain oil

Coffee beans contain natural oils. These settle on the inside of the bag and can migrate to the outside. If they come into contact with a label whose adhesive is not designed for oily surfaces, the label loses its grip: it bulges, peels away or comes off completely.

The solution

Permanent adhesive

For labels on coffee bags, we generally recommend permanent pressure-sensitive adhesives. They adhere immediately and permanently, even to slightly oily surfaces. That is precisely what makes the difference between a label that stays in place for weeks and one that curls up after three days.

FAQ

Coffee labels – quick answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Which materials are suitable for coffee labels?

Labels for coffee packaging require materials that look good and stand up to everyday wear and tear. Popular choices include matt textured papers for an artisanal look and robust PP films (white or transparent), which easily withstand moisture, friction and temperature fluctuations. Silver foil gives a sophisticated look – perfect for premium roasts.

Do your labels withstand being in the fridge and exposure to damp?

Yes. Our printed coffee labels remain stable even in cold conditions, in the storage cellar or when exposed to temperature fluctuations during dispatch; they adhere securely and retain their appearance for a long time.

Are there special labels for bags, tins or jars?

Of course. We produce coffee bag labels and formats to suit every type of packaging – whether round tins, square jars or flexible pouches. Front and back labels or sealing strips can be combined with ease.

How do I find the right format and material?

The easiest way is to use our free sample pack. This way, you can feel and test different materials and finishes to see what suits your packaging best.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. Thanks to digital printing, you can order even small quantities, starting from just one – ideal for roasters with a wide range of varieties, limited editions or seasonal specialities.

Can I combine several designs in one order?

Of course! With our blend batching service, you can combine different coffee blends in a single order – it’s efficient, cost-effective and comes at no extra charge.
