Advice on food labelling

That is why it is indispensable.

TESTING & SAFETY

Check everything – before it becomes expensive.

Whether it's packaging, labels or online listings – every detail must be correct before a product goes on sale. Ingredient lists, health claims, LMIV, nutritional values, mandatory text, languages and labelling depending on the type of product: several requirements apply simultaneously, and this is precisely where most mistakes occur in practice.

If you only make corrections after the fact, you lose time, money and, in some cases, listings. With a professional review, you can ensure planning reliability before anything goes to print or ends up in stores.

Protein shake, vitamin capsule or liquid concentrate? Supplements in particular are subject to strict requirements regarding health claims, ingredient lists, nutritional tables and mandatory information. Anna ensures that everything is declared correctly – before anything goes on sale.

FAQ

Do you have any questions? We have the answers!

What information must be included on food packaging?

The following information must always be provided on all pre-packaged food products:

  • Name of the food product List of ingredients (including additives, flavourings, nanomaterials, etc.)
  • Allergen labelling (visually highlighted within the list of ingredients)
  • Quantity of certain ingredients (QUID)
  • Net quantity Best before date (BBD) or use-by date
  • Special storage and/or use conditions
  • Name or company name and address of the food business operator
  • Country of origin or place of provenance, if required
  • Instructions for use, if necessary
  • Nutrition declaration (Big 7: energy value, fat, saturated fatty acids, carbohydrates, sugar, protein, salt) Lot or batch identification

Can additional seals or voluntary information be integrated?

Yes, voluntary information is permitted provided that it is:

  • true, clear and not misleading,
  • can be substantiated by evidence,
  • and does not contradict the mandatory information.

This includes, for example:

  • quality seals (organic seal, Fairtrade, MSC, etc.)
  • Sustainability information ("recyclable packaging", "climate neutral")
  • Storytelling elements, origin, craftsmanship, innovation claims

Do you offer a packaging check?

Yes! We check your label and packaging layout for:

  • Completeness of mandatory information
  • Linguistic and legal compliance (DE / AT / CH / FR / EN) Consistency of claims, seals and advertising statements Legibility, font sizes, placement

How long does a packaging check take?

Usually 3-5 working days, depending on the scope and languages. For label checks only (e.g. DACH), this is often possible within 48 hours.

Do you also support voluntary information beyond the mandatory labelling requirements?

Yes! We help you make voluntary information more secure, such as claims, storytelling texts, sustainability statements or graphic seal placements, so that your product appears both creative and compliant.
