Our Story

What started as an idea in a garage has grown into a modern production world for labels and packaging. Our journey has been shaped by curiosity, growth, and the ambition to keep improving things step by step. Here, we’ll take you through the key milestones of our story — and we’re still far from the finish line.

2003The Beginning
The Beginning

Amazon, Google, Apple, Frank Plechschmidt — all great ideas start in a garage.

2008

Labels became Frank’s thing! Labels24.de goes live!

2013

The garage and attic are transformed into a small-batch label production facility.

2014

Outgrown the garage? Time to move into a high-tech farmhouse!

2018

A new great love arrives: the very first HP Indigo ♥

2019The Labelists Family
The Labelists Family

What began as the business idea behind Labels24.de has grown into one big family — the Labelists® family.

2021

The next big thing! To keep things exciting, Frank gave the little Indigos a big brother, laying the foundation for our FlexPack division. The HP Indigo 25k moves in.

2023

“The last big thing” is no longer big enough! So the 25k now has a big sister too: the HP Indigo 200k.

2025Big Move
Big Move

Our packaging division — now home to two large printing presses and five pouch production lines — relocates to a former metalworking facility in Thiersheim, making room in Pfaffenreuth’s barn for our digital label printing monster: the HP Indigo V12. This increased our production capacity fivefold in both areas, allowing us to produce even more, even faster, and always in exactly the right quantities.
