Test first. Then print.
Before your packaging goes into full production, you can test your design with us first. As a roll proof or as 5 finished sample pouches. Check the colours, feel the material, judge the print quality. Sent to you straight from Bavaria.
Two routes
Whether you just want to check the print quality or hold the complete end product in your hands: pick the option that fits your project.
Option 1Your design printed on roll stock. No finished pouches.
Option 25 converted stand-up pouches per design. Real samples in your hands.
Both options apply to every packaging format: stand-up pouches, flat pouches and roll stock.
Why a proof
A print proof makes things visible before you order. Take your time checking colours, material and print quality before the production run starts.
Screen colours and printed colours are not the same. A print proof shows you how your design actually looks on the material you have chosen.
Colour tones shift noticeably on metallised films. A print proof shows you how your CMYK mix reacts with the metallic substrate.
Note the CMYK values of your colours directly in the artwork file. That way you get the same result on future repeat orders.
Gold, silver, copper or mother-of-pearl: every colour that reacts with a metallic substrate benefits from a proof.
Metallic effects
Every pouch shows a completely different metallic result, and all of them are printed on the same silver film. The difference? The CMYK colour mix and the amount of white ink underprint beneath it. That is exactly the effect a print proof makes tangible in advance.
Gold effects on white
Gold effects on silverOur digital printing gives you the full metallic spectrum, from warm gold tones to cool silver effects. The fastest way to see which combination works for your brand is a print proof.
Technical deep dive
An often overlooked lever in digital printing: the white ink underprint beneath your colours. It controls how opaque your design ends up looking, and how much of the natural material shines through.
At 0 % you see the metallic silver through every colour. At 100 % the design becomes fully opaque. Everything in between? It can reinvent your design completely.

A detail you can barely predict on screen. That is what makes a print proof so valuable for metallic designs.

Your questions about print proofs — answered right here.
What is a print proof?
A print proof is a pre-production sample of your packaging. You get your design either printed on roll stock or as a finished pouch, before the actual production run starts. That lets you check material, colours and print quality at your own pace.
What is the difference between a roll proof and a pouch proof?
The roll proof shows your design digitally printed on roll stock with lamination. Not a finished pouch, but faster and cheaper. The pouch proof also includes the full converting: you get 5 finished pouches per design with zipper, stand-up or flat bottom and every extra you have planned for the production run.
How many finished pouches do I get with a pouch proof?
5 fully converted pouches per design — enough to hold in your hands, pass around the team and judge the look on the finished product.
Can I combine several designs in one proof order?
Yes, that works. Each additional design costs a small surcharge, whether it is a roll proof or a pouch proof.
What do I need to prepare?
Your print-ready artwork (ideally a PDF or a packaged Adobe Illustrator file) plus the proof order. If you are unsure about your artwork, we will check it beforehand and give you certainty.
How long does production take?
Roll proofs reach you in 5–6 business days, pouch proofs take 10–12 business days. Express production is available for a surcharge. Get in touch if it needs to be quick.
Is the proof identical to the production run?
It comes very close, that is the whole point. Small deviations between proof and production run can occur in rare cases (material batch, machine settings), but a proof is the best way to prepare the run properly.
